Mandatory Vaccination:
- Yellow Fever
Required if you are arriving from or have recently visited a country where yellow fever is present. Travellers coming directly from Europe do not need this, but proof of vaccination might be requested upon arrival in some cases.
Recommended Vaccinations:
- DTP (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Polio)
Recommended for all travellers. This vaccine is usually valid for 10 years. - Hepatitis A
Recommended due to the risk of contaminated food or water. - MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
Ensure your vaccination is up-to-date, especially if you were born after 1965. Measles is still present in some regions. - Typhoid
Recommended if staying for more than two weeks or traveling under primitive conditions. (not the case for this camp)
Based on Travel Conditions and Personal Factors:
- Hepatitis B
Suggested for longer stays or close contact with the local population. (not the case for this camp) - Meningococcal Meningitis
Recommended if traveling during the dry season (December to June) through high-risk areas. (not the case for this camp) - Rabies
Consider this when you will spend a lot of time outdoors, work with animals, or travel to remote areas (not the case for this camp) - Tuberculosis (BCG)
Usually only recommended for specific cases, such as long-term stays.
Malaria:
There is no vaccine for malaria, but preventive medication (such as Malarone or Lariam) is highly recommended by some doctors. We advice to always take measures to avoid mosquito bites, such as using DEET-based repellents and sleeping under a mosquito net or use a fan or AC.
Tip:
Consult a travel clinic or your doctor at least 4 to 6 weeks before departure for personalized advice based on your health and the specific areas you will visit.
